CoolLipo is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive laser-assisted lipolysis treatment that we use for both removing unwanted fat & tightening skin in smaller and/or delicate areas such as the neck & upper arms. It works by using laser energy to liquify the target fat, rendering it much easier to remove than it would be with traditional liposuction. Finally, precisely-controlled heat from the laser is used to tighten & contract the skin in the area where the fat was just removed. In just one quick session, the combination of fat reduction & skin tightening can really make a dramatic improvement without the downtime & recovery of more invasive surgical procedures.

Am I a good candidate for CoolLipo?
An ideal candidate for CoolLipo already maintains a healthy lifestyle, but has small, exercise-resistant areas of fat that they’d like to get rid of. While very effective in almost all cases, CoolLipo is best suited for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity. For those with more advanced or severe laxity, skin tightening is still possible, just how much isn’t as easy to predict.
What are the most common laser liposuction side effects?
We understand that just the word “liposuction” has a way of intimidating many people out of seeking treatment who would otherwise benefit greatly from the procedure! However, laser liposuction is widely considered a minimally-invasive procedure and the side effects are usually mild to moderate. Granted, liposuction treatments do cause a few expected side effects; those most commonly reported are redness, tenderness and bruising. Typically, these side effects are very easily managed and resolve quickly.
What can I do to improve the results?
We almost always require our patients to wear a compression garment for a set period of time immediately following the treatment. Undoubtedly, compression garments are critical to maximizing your results and you should wear them as recommended. For example, the garment used after neck liposuction is a head wrap that goes under your chin and over the top of your head. We usually suggest that it only be worn for one day. Don’t worry, we’ll also give you very clear instructions on your aftercare routine, which is quite simple as well.
How quick is laser liposuction recovery?
Certainly, you’ll need to take it easy for the first 24 hours. You’ll have a follow up visit the day after your procedure in order to ask questions & to ensure that you’re healing well. Almost everyone is able to get back to their normal routines in just 1 to 2 days without much difficulty. In fact, it’s not at all uncommon for people to have treatment on a Thursday and be back to work the following Monday – with little to no indication that anything was done!
When will I see results from laser liposuction?
Some results are noticeable immediately after the treatment! However, as residual swelling subsides and your skin contracts with it, you’ll continue to see improvements – for up to several months following the procedure. For the vast majority of patients, final results are evident between 3 to 6 months after treatment.
