Am I a good candidate for Avéli?
If you are interested in Avéli treatment, you should book an appointment for a cosmetic consultation. Our board-certified physicians and staff will explain this and any other alternative treatment options to customize a plan especially for you!
In general, candidates for Avéli are:
- female, age 18+
- not pregnant
- in good health
What is Avéli treatment like?
After taking your before photos, your doctor will mark the target treatment areas on your skin and then a local anesthetic will be administered to numb each of them. Next, the doctor will insert the Avéli device through tiny incisions to identify & sever the septa (connective tissue bands) that are causing your cellulite dimples. The advantage of the Avéli device is that it makes it possible to verify complete release of the septa at the time of the procedure, eliminating most concerns about treatment efficacy. Depending on how many areas need to be treated, you should expect Avéli to take about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
After your Avéli procedure is complete, the incisions will be bandaged and we’ll review your aftercare instructions.
What are the side effects of Avéli? Any downtime?
Side effects from Avéli are generally mild and temporary. In the clinical study for Avéli, the most commonly reported side effects were discomfort in the first day following treatment as well as bruising & tenderness to the touch, which resolved completely in about a month. These side effects are very easily tolerated and aren’t expected to interfere with your normal routine whatsoever.
There is no downtime expected with Avéli & you can return to your daily life immediately. The only limitation we suggest is to avoid strenuous lower body exercise for about 7-10 days post treatment.
When will I see results from Avéli? How long will they last?
You’ll see some results immediately but swelling & bruising may make the improvements difficult to appreciate during the first few weeks. After a month you should see noticeable change and after approximately 90 days any residual swelling will be resolved and full results realized.
